We are characterizing the mature oocyte transcriptome in a collection of inbred lines from Raleigh and use population genomic data and whole female expression data to detect putative eQTLs affecting oocyte transcript abundance. We Integrate these data with previously collected early embryo transcriptomes from high and low latitude populations along with existing population genomic data from the North American cline, we investigate the role of spatially varying selection on the oocyte transcriptome generally, and on DNA damage response pathways specifically.
