Centrifuge model test, numerical analyses, and triaxial tests for drained and undrained triggers of silica sand

Slope instability needs to be triggered. A series of geotechnical centrifuge tests and numerical analyses were conducted to investigate potential triggers of drained instability and undrained instability, with the aim of triggering a slope failure under undrained conditions. The material used was characterised using a series of drained and undrained triaxial tests.
