Microbial community at groundwater monitoring wells in the Wilcox Oil Superfund Site, Bristow OK

In October-November 2022, the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, collected groundwater samples from monitoring wells at the Wilcox Oil Company Superfund Site in Bristow, Oklahoma to characterize the geochemistry and assess the microbial communities in groundwater at this site. The dataset includes sequencing data from groundwater samples collected at 31 monitoring wells. Samples for microbial community analysis were processed for sequencing of the 16S ribosomal ribonucleic acid (16S rRNA) gene. These data are meant to better inform management decisions and are available to anyone interested in the microbial community at this Superfund site.
