Pinus sivestris biogeorgaphic study in Orenburg region. Pinus silvestris Orenburg

The formation of the common pine habitat at the junction of the European, Siberian and Turanian floristic regions in the southern margin of the Ural highlands was studied by analyzing the allelic diversity of the dominant nuclear DNA gene. The study revealed that the habitat of Scots pine in the study area is characterized by a high level of genetic diversity. The cluster analysis has shown that populations growing in geographically close habitats have the greatest genetic similarity. Based on the analysis of the main components, the sample of relict pines is divided into 2 groups; however, one of the populations occupies an intermediate position between the two groups.
