资源简介:
Antiretroviral therapy (ART) has dramatically improved survival rates among people with HIV (PWH), but this population continues to experience heightened rates of inflammation-related comorbidities. Inflammation in PWH is associated with alterations in microbiome composition, though whether such alterations precede inflammation-related comorbidities or occur as their consequence, remains poorly understood. We performed 16S rRNA sequencing on stool of PWH 1-2 years prior to onset of morbidity or mortality as well as matched control PWH to identify microbiome patterns that precede HIV disease progression.
