Periodontal disease in dogs affects a wide range of age groups, from young to old, but the cause of the disease remains high in abundance, and identification of the bacterial species and environmental factors involved in the pathogenesis of periodontal disease is urgently needed. In recent years, there have been scattered papers on the oral microbiota of dogs, but few papers have reported on the microbiota of healthy periodontal conditions, and in particular, few studies have taken body size and age into consideration. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to evaluate the composition of the oral microbiota in young dogs with healthy periodontal conditions.
