Data and code for: Counting garments, not only tonnes: customs item counts as a measure of clothing acquisition for SDG 12, and the countries they leave out
收藏资源简介:
Raw data, code and outputs that reproduce every table, figure and number in the paper. UN Comtrade apparel records (HS 61–62, 2023) are used to measure apparent clothing acquisition in garments per person, to test where the item-count field fails, and to compare trade-derived garment weights with 16,464 individually weighed garments. Run python run_all.py; the final step checks 56 recomputed numbers against the paper. The deposit includes the unmodified UN Comtrade and World Bank API responses, a script that downloads them again, and the NPCGA weighed-garment dataset (v1.1, CC BY-SA 4.0, redistributed unchanged). See README.md. Version 2 carries the paper's revised title. Version 1 was deposited under the working title "Garment counts in UN Comtrade records: what they measure about clothing acquisition and where they fail". The results are unchanged. Version 2 adds the scripts that download and build the data, and the re-downloaded 2012–2023 series (see README.md). Licences: code under the MIT licence; derived data, tables and figures under CC BY 4.0; data/external/NPCGA_datatable_1.1.csv under CC BY-SA 4.0, redistributed unchanged; UN Comtrade and World Bank API responses reproduced unmodified for replication, under their providers' terms of use.
