Number of Israelis aged 20-24 years traveling abroad 2015-2022

A total of 676,500 Israelis between the ages of 20 and 24 years departed from Israel to travel abroad in 2022, either as tourists or returning to residences abroad. This was a dramatic increase in the number of departing travelers from this age group compared to the previous year's 286,200. The number of visitors drastically declined in 2020 and 2021 as the Israeli government implemented strict travel regulations in response to the COVID-19 outbreak in the same year. Overall, the number of visitors to the country witnessed growth in the years leading up to 2020. In 2022, the number of visitors in this age group has improved. However, it has only reached levels comparable to those of 2019.
