The Ovar-DRB1 gene is a critical component of the Major Histocompatibility Complex II (MHC II), playing a central role in immune responses by presenting antigens to T-cells. Genetic diversity within MHC II genes directly influences the range of antigens that can be presented, allowing for more comprehensive immune responses. In sheep, this genetic variation has been associated with differences in immune responsiveness and disease susceptibility. The current study was aimed to understand the allelic diversity of the Ovar-DRB1 gene within Sudan Desert Sheep.
