**Overview**
This data package contains the complaints filed by the consumer for different purposes like Environmental Complaints, Building Complaints, Housing Maintenance Complaint Code, Landmark Complaint, etc.

**Description**
This data package includes information about the actions taken by the company in response to the complaint, such as, whether the company’s response was timely, how the company responded, and whether the consumer disputed the company’s response. If the consumer opts to share it and after we take steps to remove personal information, we publish the consumer’s description of what happened. Companies also have the option to select a public response. The Department enforces compliance with these regulations and promotes worker and public safety through its review and approval of building plans, permitting and licensing functions, and inspections. In addition to Code and Zoning compliance review, emergency response and professional analysis of accidents to prevent future incidents, the Department has strengthened its education and outreach programs to provide the construction industry, property owners and tenants with a heightened understanding of safety awareness.
he Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) records complaints that are made by the public through the 311 Citizen Services Center, Code Enforcement Borough Offices or the internet for conditions which violate the New York City Housing Maintenance Code (HMC) or the New York State Multiple Dwelling Law (MDL).
