Differentiating xylem, swelling bud and young needles were harvested on 6 genotypes of the maritime pine breeding program. Composite cDNA libraries were then generated by mixing an equal amount of total RNA extracted from each tissue. The 6 libraries were subjected to high throughput sequencing on a 454 Titanium platform.
