Cedar Rope, Accession AZRU-00008, Catalog #2753. Morris FS 5461. Analyzed by Laurie Webster, 2006. Fragment of thick 3-strand braid of juniper bark. Curved shape. Measurements: L 50.0, W 3.5 CM. Image: AZRU8-2753 A: 3-strand braided rope of cedar bark. Recovered from Earl Morris' excavation of Room 185, Aztec West Ruin. Morris described Room 185 as having “ two feet of a very hard and compact light colored earth on a floor level that showed practically no signs of use. A refuse layer was above this and the first storey roof remains above that. The only doorway was a T-shaped door in the east wall.” (Morris 1928:409)
