In-Situ study of CsPbBr3 films grown by single source vapour deposition

Close Space Sublimation (CSS) is a very efficient method to grow homogeneous pure phase polycrystalline films with varying thicknesses from 1 to 500 μm 1. However, due to the lack of thermodynamic literature on CsPbBr3, the growth mechanisms are still not well understood, posing a significant challenge to advancing this technology. My PhD research aims to develop a growth model for CsPbBr3 films using CSS. A focus is on understanding the phase transformations that occur during the process, which can hinder the formation of pure CsPbBr3 films. Therefore, we propose an experimental series at the BM32 INS2 facility to monitor the growth of CsPbBr3 from a single source. In-situ GIXRD scans will allow identifying the different crystalline phases appearing during growth, for various growth temperatures, annealing and cooling procedure. This will enable us to propose possible reaction schemes at each point of the process, and to extrapolate them to the CSS process.
