Bang Hotspring sediment metagenome Metagenome

Next generation metagenomic DNA sequencing of sediment collected from the Bang hot spring in Quang Binh province in Vietnam. Isolated total DNA was sequenced using two different sequencing platforms: Illumina and Oxford Nanopore. Both Nanopore and Illumina raw reads were corrected separately using SPADES and corrected reads were jointly assembled also using SPADES. The assembled metagenome was annotated using an in-house pipeline and was compared to the metagenomes from two other hot springs in order to find genes that encode for industrially relevant enzymes for the biobased economy.
