"This dataset contains open access statistics on the number of certificates of origin issued annually, broken down by certificate type and importing country. The data covers various types such as Arab Certificates of Origin, Free Zone Certificates, and Unified GCC-EFTA Certificates.

These certificates are issued for private sector companies (primarily small and medium enterprises) based on their export activities.

Qatar Chamber issues five main types of certificates of origin:

General Certificate (for exports to countries without preferential or customs exemption agreements with Qatar)

GCC Certificate (for exports within the Gulf Cooperation Council, including local content information)

Arab Certificate (under the facilitation and development of trade exchange agreement among Arab states)

Preferential Certificate (for countries or blocs with free trade agreements with Qatar such as the EU, Turkey, Singapore, etc.)

Bilateral Agreement Certificate (for countries with specific agreements requiring particular origin standards)

It is important to note that these figures represent only a portion of Qatar’s total exports—those that require a certificate of origin—and are not inclusive of all national export activities. For comprehensive export data covering all sectors, including oil, gas, non-oil, and re-exports, the official source is the National Statistics Center, which publishes export statistics based on customs data from the General Authority of Customs. Those datasets are broader in scope, classified by Harmonized System (HS) Code, country, value, weight, and export type, and are released periodically following international standards.

Qatar Chamber data is particularly useful for analyzing trends in private sector exports, though it does not reflect the full export landscape of the country."
