We selected a sample of 15 massive quenched luminous red galaxies (LRGs) at redshift z~0.5. Eight LRGs are consistent with the general population of LRGs, while the other seven LRGs are known to contain MgII in their circumgalactic medium. This dataset contains HST COS spectra of background quasars at impact parameters (projected distances from luminous red galaxies) of up to 400 kpc. The spectra show HI and metal-line transitions (such as OVI, CIII, CII, SiII, SiIII) from the circumgalactic medium of luminous red galaxies.
