Transcriptome sequencing of the rhabdovirus-negative Sf9 cell clone NVSI

The Sf9 cell line is broadly used for manufacturing baculovirus-expressed biological products, FDA previously reported the presence of a novel, rhabdovirus in the Sf9 cell line. To development of an Sf-rhabdovirus negative cell line. Here, we recently used limiting dilution method for obtaining a new cell clones isolated from Sf9 cell line (obtained from ATCC), and named Sf9-NVSI. We used high-throughput sequencing (HTS) of the transcriptome to examine Sf9-NVSI cell for adventitious viral contaminants. we found no evidence of contamination with Sf-rhabdovirus or any other virus.
