In wastewater treatment processes, accurate dosing of polyacrylamide (PAM) is a critical step to enhance the removal of total phosphorus (TP) and chemical oxygen demand (COD). As a high-efficiency flocculant, PAM rapidly aggregates micro-flocs (e.g., phosphate precipitates) and colloidal COD generated during chemical phosphorus removal via bridging effects, forming dense flocs to accelerate sedimentation and significantly improve the retention rate of suspended phosphorus and organic matter in sedimentation tanks. Its anionic form (APAM) can specifically capture positively charged phosphorus compounds, reducing the content of particulate phosphorus in the effluent; meanwhile, it promotes sludge dewatering and decreases dissolved pollutants returned to the system via filtrate. If PAM is under-dosed, incomplete flocculation will lead to breakthrough of TP/COD, increasing subsequent loading; over-dosing will cause foaming and wall adhesion failures. Therefore, the PAM dosage per 1000 tons of water is a core regulatory parameter that balances pollutant removal efficiency, sludge disposal costs and system stability. This dataset provides data support and comparison for PAM dosing in production of water plants and related industries, and offers data basis for determining PAM dosage per 1000 tons of water. The PAM dosing data algorithm for Lishui Shuige Wastewater Treatment Plant includes the following steps: 1. Data collection: Collect daily data of Lishui Shuige Wastewater Treatment Plant for a full year, including water inflow, influent COD, influent TP, effluent COD, effluent TP, PAM dosage at high-efficiency tank point 1, PAM dosage at high-efficiency tank point 2, PAM dosage at primary sedimentation tank point 1, PAM dosage at primary sedimentation tank point 2, and chemical agent concentration. 2. Data processing: Screen out dates from the collected data where effluent COD < 30 mg/L and effluent TP < 0.20 mg/L that meet the specified requirements. Calculate the PAM dosage per 1000 tons of water for the qualified dates using the formula: PAM dosage per 1000 tons of water = (PAM dosage at high-efficiency tank point 1 + PAM dosage at high-efficiency tank point 2 + PAM dosage at primary sedimentation tank point 1 + PAM dosage at primary sedimentation tank point 2) × chemical agent concentration / water inflow × 1000. 3. Data statistics: Take the PAM dosing usage of each consecutive month, and count the average water inflow and average PAM dosage range per 1000 tons of water for different months throughout the year. 4. Data application: Based on the water inflow ranges of different months throughout the year, combined with the impact of special weather in the current year on water consumption, provide reasonable suggestions on PAM dosage per 1000 tons of water for water plants and related industries.
