Toxin production potential of 71 Pseudo-nitzschia species

This dataset summarizes the known domoic acid (DA) production potential across 71 species of the marine diatom genus Pseudo-nitzschia, which are associated with harmful algal blooms (HABs). For each species, the dataset records whether DA production has been reported (Yes), not reported (No), or remains unconfirmed (Not known), based on published literature up to 2021. The species list and toxic status are extracted from peer-reviewed studies (see references in manuscript and table).
