Composition of the standard and experimental diets.

1Casein and whey protein sources are from Lactalis Ingredients, France. Amounts were calculated according to the % of dry matter and nitrogen content. 2L- cysteine and L-proline was added to the diet to reach and match the AIN93 recommendation for adult rats in both diets. Amounts were calculated according to the amino acid composition of both proteins used. 3Lactose was added to the diets to match the lactose content and intake for both diets. Quantities are expressed in g/kg dry matter.
