Differential gene expression was assesed of genes related to tumor associated macrophages in human gliomas The total RNA from tissue was extracted from fresh tumor and normal tissue using an RNeasy kit (Qiagen, Limburg, Netherlands), according to the manufacturer's protocol. RNA purity and integrity was analyzed by BioAnalyser 2100 (Agilent Technologies, Santa Clara, CA). Gene expression profiling was performed using GeneChip® Human 2.0 ST Array Affymetrix (Santa Clara, CA). Target preparation for Affymetrix Gene chipsTM was performed according to the manufacturer’s instruction.
