Australian Psyllaephagus, parasitoids of lerp forming psyllids.

Progress on the taxonomy of the Australian Psyllaephagus has ground to an almost complete standstill in recent decades. Despite the great diversity of the genus, and its importance in biocontrol, only three new Australian species have been described since 1962. A new framework for accelerating taxonomy of the genus was proposed recently by the senior author and this has been applied to propose a new baseline for recognising and describing new species of Psyllaephagus
