"EARLY MOLECULAR DIAGNOSIS OF PERI-IMPLANT MUCOSITIS BASED ON SALIVARY BIOMARKERS: A CLINICAL AND LABORATORY STUDY IN PATIENTS AFTER DENTAL IMPLANTATION IN UZBEKISTAN"

Dental implantation has become a cornerstone of modern oral rehabilitation; however, its widespread application is accompanied by an increasing prevalence of peri-implant inflammatory complications. Peri-implant mucositis, recognized as a reversible precursor to peri-implantitis, requires timely identification to prevent progressive bone loss and implant failure. Conventional diagnostic modalities, primarily based on clinical and radiographic assessments, demonstrate limited sensitivity in detecting early-stage inflammatory changes. The present study aimed to investigate the diagnostic performance of salivary biomarkers for the early detection of peri-implant mucositis in patients following dental implantation. A comprehensive clinical–laboratory approach was employed, integrating peri-implant clinical parameters with quantitative analysis of salivary biomarkers. The findings revealed a significant elevation of biomarker levels in patients with mucositis, exhibiting strong correlations with clinical indicators of inflammation. These results underscore the potential of salivary biomarkers as sensitive, non-invasive tools for early diagnosis and dynamic monitoring of peri-implant tissue health.
