Vegetation Inventory - 5k - Soil Moisture Regime

Vegetation inventory polygons contain a variety of detailed information on vegetation growing within the polygons. For example, the age and type of trees growing on the land base in Yukon and shrubs growing in the alpine. The data set is most often used in forest, habitat, wildlife and other natural resource management. This inventory set was delineated using stereo images and softcopy technology at an approximate scale of 1:5000. This finer, large scale interpretation allows for use at an operational level having more polygon detail. This inventory provides a foundation for various land use and economic activities. It provides a broader based vegetation classification than previous versions with the intent to increase its utility. The “Yukon Vegetation Inventory Manual version 3” is a guideline for the interpretation of this dataset.
