A and B denote grass communities where the small mammal abundance was grouped, as sites were typically larger than the mapped distributions of these communities. Vegetation classes are ranked by their preference for grazing by domestic stock, with 9 the most impacted and 1 the least (Grazing rank). Small mammal abundance is number of small mammals captured per 100 trap nights in the stocked and destocked zone, from 2011 to 2013. Vegetation communities mapped in the study region.
