Genome assembly of Mycobacterium aurum.. Mycolicibacterium aurum

A faster growing and non-pathogenic relative of the tuberculosis causing bacilli, M. aurum has been gaining favour as a surrogate for the former for drug screening processes. To further validate this surrogate model, we have sequenced and assembled the M. aurum genome into 46 contigs, with a total length of 6.02Mb containing 5684 annotated genes (75% with assigned function).
