The goal is to determine the RNA virome structure of asymptomatic commercially bred South African chickens. Also, the study look to assess the impact of age and season on RNA viral abundance and diversity. Chicken faecal samples were collected at 2, 4 and 6 weeks from two independent season (Summer and winter) and the changes in viral abundance and diversity were monitored through viral metagenomics.
