Guide for Salvage Archaeology

This guide was prepared in connection with an experimental training course in salvage archaeology conducted by the Museum of New Mexico and the Fort Burgwin Research Center with the cooperation and assistance of the National Science Foundation. The course was designed to acquaint a small group of advanced student archaeologists with the special problems and techniques of salvage archaeology, and to prepare these students for positions of responsibility in those salvage programs which are developing so rapidly throughout the country.
