This series recorded the minutes of the Works and Finance Committee's meetings. At the committee's first meeting on 29 August 1892 it was decided that its functions would be to:Answer questions relating to the general expenditure of the Department under all departmental chiefs on account of capital and revenue heads,Hear reports from the auditor regarding the periodical inspections of accounts at stationsAnswer questions from the auditor and accountant which may appear to them to require special investigation regarding the expenditure in any departmentEvaluate the statement of revenue for the previous months activity andDiscuss works and general business.Meetings were held on a monthly basis.
