Bike insurance policy distribution among Japanese cyclists FY 2018-2023

As of January 2024, around 65.6 percent of bicycle users in Japan had insurance providing for bicycle accidents, like a personal liability insurance policy, increasing from 56 percent in 2018. Within the last years, more and more prefectures in Japan have made it mandatory for bicycle users to take out such policies.
