Qualitative Research Data: Nutritional Care Challenges in Nursing Homes (The PREHOD Project)

This dataset contains pseudonymized transcripts from two focus groups conducted as part of the research and development project PREHOD. The study aimed to identify key challenges in nutritional care within Slovenian public and private nursing homes (DSOs). Methodology: The data was collected using semi-structured group interviews with 12 professionals, including kitchen managers, nutrition coordinators, and assistant cooks. The discussion focused on: Human resource capacities and professional competencies. Implementation of therapeutic diets and dietary regimes. Systemic limitations within public procurement. Communication and cooperation within the dietary department. Data Format: The dataset is provided in a verbatim pseudonymized transcript format. All personal names and specific institution identifiers have been removed to ensure participant confidentiality in accordance with the Helsinki Declaration. Project Context: These findings serve as a baseline for developing a national professional monitoring system for nutritional care in elder care facilities (Project PREHOD).
