Effects of four treatments (control, rice straw addition, gypsum addition, and hematite addition) on the redox-controlled cadmium and arsenic mobility in a paddy soil were investigated via an incubation experiment. Soil were sampled at different time points. Soil chemical properties were determined and soil DNA extracted. Clone libraries for the amplicons of aioA gene, which is involved in arsenic oxidation, respectively, were constructed. Clones were sequenced using AB 3730xL Genetic Analyzer. The aioA gene was amplified with the primer set aoxBM1-2F/aoxBM2-1R (Quemeneur et al., 2010).
