Comparative transcriptome analysis of Babesia bigemina attenuated vaccine and virulent strains of Mexican origin

To identify differentially expressed genes in attenuated and virulent strains of B. bigemina that have been used as experimental vaccines and challenge strains, respectively, in Mexico. Gene expression differences between B. bigemina attenuated and virulent parasite strains were evaluated. Parasite mRNA was extracted from bovine blood using 3 biological replicates for each strain and were compared by RNAseq methodology using the Illumina technology.
