Establishment of efficient tissue culture systems is a prerequisite for micropropagation and genetic transformation. Generally, callus formation, organogenesis and somatic embryogenesis in plant tissue culture are controlled by plant growth regulators (PGRs) supplemented to tissue culture media. However, it needs very laborious processes to establish optimal PGR conditions, since the conditions are greatly influenced by plant genotype and explant type. In this study, we examined isolation of molecular markers specifically expressed under PGR conditions suitable for callus induction as a first step toward simple and rapid identification of optimal PGR conditions in tissue culture.
