K. brasiliensis GHG001 is a recently identified basidiomycetous yeast that can grow on Xylose as sole carbon source. It secretes a very efficient endo-xylanase of family GH11 capable of hydrolysing Xylan into Xylooligomers. Here GHG001 was grown, in triplicate, on three different carbon sources: 1% Xylose, 1% Xylan, and 1% glucose, and mRNA was sequences on a HiSeq2000. Our aim is to identify key genes in pentose metabolism in this strain. In addition we sequenced a pool (without replication) of different growing condition to aid on genome annotation.
