This dataset comprises Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations of gas–liquid slug flow in a microscale axisymmetric pipe domain. Simulations were conducted using ANSYS Fluent 2023R2 to evaluate the influence of mesh resolution on the prediction of bubble dynamics in two-phase flow systems. A structured mesh was used with five levels of resolution (M25 to M200), ranging from 12,500 to 800,000 cells. The system models cylindrical pipe as a 2D axisymmetric domain, with a gas bubble injected into a continuous Newtonian liquid phase, with fluid properties defined through UDFs to match desired Reynolds and Eötvös numbers. The Volume of Fluid (VOF) method was used to track phase interfaces, assuming laminar flow and including surface tension effects. The dataset includes results in in HDF5 format, corresponding to the final time step of each transient simulation. All simulations were performed on the GRID FEUP HPC infrastructure, and setup reproducibility is ensured through consistent geometry and boundary conditions, with variation only in inlet properties and mesh resolution.
