In 2018, there was a large gender disparity in the accident frequency index at Trenord: 47.9 versus 34.5 for men. That year, Trenord's male employees had significantly fewer accidents at work than in the previous year, when the accident frequency index for men was 42.2. Trenord S.r.l. employs over 4,000 people and it is the only company in Italy that deals exclusively with rail transport in a single region, i.e. Lombardy.
