Gut microbiota in clinically normal, affected, and antimicrobial-treated horses

In horses, which are herbivores, the gut microbiota plays an important role in food digestion and in competitively preventing pathogen invasion. It has been reported that the gut microbiota of antimicrobial treated horses and clinically affected horses such as those with diarrhea and enteritis differ from that of healthy horses. This project was designed to understand the differences in the gut microbiota in each group using long-read sequencing.
