The cryogenic environment of Saturn’s moon Titan is reviewed. Titan is an ice- and organic-rich world, with a surface temperature of 94 K and a nitrogen-methane-hydrogen atmosphere with a surface pressure of 1.5 bar, and with large seas of liquid methane. To follow up on the discoveries of the Cassini-Huygens mission, these environmental parameters, familiar in the LNG industry, are important in the design of future exploration vehicles and instruments, which could launch as soon as 2025.
