Retrospective analysis of bacterial cultures sampled in German chicken-fattening farms during the years 2011-2012 revealed additional VIM-1 carbapenemase-producing Escherichia coli and a serologically rough Salmonella Infantis

Whole-genome sequences of blaVIM-1 harbouring E. coli and Salmonella isolates and associated plasmids (E. coli transformants) originating from German chicken-fattening farms. Isolates were collected within the RESET-project in 2011-2012. WGS analysis may reveal deeper insights into spread, stability and transfer of genes conferring carbapenem-resistance in German poultry production.
