Bombyx mori is an economically important organism producing mulberry silk. Silk is secreted by the silkglands which is especially enriched with fibroin and sericin proteins. Large amounts of these proteins are synthesized during 5th instar larval stage. Fibroin is produced by the posterior silk glands. Nuclear matrix plays an important role in gene regulation. In this study we sequenced the nuclear matrix DNA of posterior silkgland during different days of 5th instar larval development to understand the regulatory mechanisms of fibroin synthesis.
