A dataset on regeneration dynamics in cork oak (Quercus suber L.) stands
收藏资源简介:
Abstract: This dataset, named CorkOak-REG, provides a comprehensive quantitative description of early-stage cork oak (Quercus suber L.) regeneration dynamics. The data were collected through regular field observations over a two-year monitoring period (2022-2023) at two pilot sites in northern Portugal (Vila Real district). The study focus is on acorn abundance and seedling emergence/survival, comparing two different spatial assessment methods. Author Roles: Angelo Fierravanti: Data curator (data collection, cleaning, and formatting). Teresa Fonseca: Supervisor (methodology validation and project coordination). Data Dictionary (Column Legend): The dataset is provided in Data Sheet 1.CSV. Each row corresponds to a specific sampling unit observation. sampling_design: Factor indicating the method used: cluster (Radial Cluster) or transect (Line Transect). doy: Day of the Year (1-365). year: Reference year (2022-2023). date: Full survey date (YYYY-MM-DD). month / day: Month and day of the observation. plot: Site identifier (A1, A2, B1, B2). sampling_unit_id: ID of the primary sampling unit (e.g., C1, T1). subplot: Specific subdivision (a, b, c, d for clusters; S1, S2... for transects). n_acorns: Number of acorns counted in the subplot. n_living_seedlings: Total count of healthy/living cork oak seedlings. Height Classes for Living Seedlings: n_seedlings_ts1_lt10cm: Seedlings height < 10 cm. n_seedling_ts2_10_30cm: Seedlings height 10–30 cm. n_seedling_ts3_gt30cm: Seedlings height > 30 cm. n_dead_seedlings: Number of dead seedlings recorded during the survey (previously labeled as n_seedlings).
