Open Research Data for "Do Tropical Cyclone Outer Size Forecasts Improve Simultaneously with Intensity Forecasts?" 1.0
收藏资源简介:
The simulated intensity (maximum wind speed, kts) and outer size (R34, nmi) in each quadrant of fifteen selected North Atlantic hurricanes from GFSv16, SHiELD, TSHiELD HAFS-A, and HWRF. The "aalxx-xxxx.dat" file is named by the hurricane number and corresponding year. In each aalxx-xxxx.dat, the codes for every model are: AVNO (GFSv16), SHiELD (F226), T-SHiELD (T22I), HAFS-A(HFSA), and HWRF (HWRF). The simulated intensity and size are obtained from the model outputs using the GFDL vortex tracker. The wind profiles are uniformly interpolated onto a 3-km-resolution grid despite the varying resolutions across these models (Marchok 2021). Marchok, T. (2021).
