Soil microbial communities are crucial for maintaining ecosystem functions and services, yet their sensitivity to pesticide toxicity remains underexplored. Amplicon sequencing was used to assess the effects of the most perturbing pesticide (metsulfuron-methyl) on soil microcosms experiments on the diversity of ammonia-oxidizing archaea (AOA), ammonia-oxidizing bacteria (AOB), total prokaryotes (16S) and fungi (ITS).
