This study captures the full diversity of transcriptomic changes over the course of gametocyte development of Plasmodium falciparum using a multi-day, multi-sample experimental design. P. falciparum intraerythrocytic stages were stressed to induce gametocytogenesis and sampled at different time points representing the asexual and sexual stages using Chromium 10x 3' Single Cell Gene Expression Solution (v2 and v3 chemistries). Overall, we capture high quality transcriptomes of ~30000 cells encompassing these stages.
