INFRASTRUCTURE (View)

BACKGROUND The INFRASTRUCTURE (View) feature service is a view-only (beta) dataset that combines stormwater infrastructure datasets curated by federal, state, regional, and local government agencies and organizations into a unified data schema for stormwater management. This layer is made available for public use and is intended to provide approximate locations of different storm infrastructure assets and common attributes compiled from various data sources. Additional data from each layer may be limited for public visibility. This dataset is sourced from INFRASTRUCTURE.gdb, one of several geodatabases developed under the Stormwater Infrastructure Management System (SWIMS) hydroinformatics project. All edits and updates to the source data are managed offline and periodically republished to this public-facing layer. Future phases of this project include adding new/updated datasets as they become available from partners, coordinating with federal, state, and local government agencies to develop stormwater data schema standards for infrastructure datasets, and incorporating temporal data functionality to enable efficient reporting of operations and maintenance activities across different types of stormwater infrastructure. LAYERS This dataset comprises the following layers: Regional Infrastructure Layers: Large-scale regional stormwater and water conveyance infrastructure features. Lakes and Reservoirs Dams Diversion Structures Irrigation Canals and Ditches Stormwater Facility Layers: Stormwater management facilities and their associated boundary areas (tributary area, footprint area, design ponding area). Stormwater Facilities Stormwater Facility Boundary Storm Drainage Layers: Storm drainage infrastructure components, including conveyance, control, and collection system features. Channel Protection Measures Surface Channels and Open Channels Storm Structures (Miscellaneous) Culverts Storm Inlets Storm Manholes Storm Outfalls Storm Mains and Pipes Monitoring Layers: Infrastructure monitoring features used for water quality and groundwater monitoring. Monitoring Stations Monitoring Wells Service Area Layers: Service area boundaries associated with stormwater infrastructure management. Service Areas ADDITIONAL NOTES This beta version, a view-only layer, aims to present a collection of databases within a unified stormwater data system structure. It is one of several databases developed for the Stormwater Infrastructure Management System (SWIMS) hydroinformatics project.
