A statue of Shepenwepet II or Amenirdis II

Diorite upper half of a statue of Shepenwepet II or Amenirdis II from South Karnak, Thebes, Upper Egypt, dating to the 25th Dynasty (712 BC - 664 BC). The female statue is broken at the waist, the greater parts of both arms are lost and the face is missing (now restored). The lady wears a sheath dress with triangular straps. The heavy wig is finely modelled and covered by a vulture headdress. It is crowned by a modius with a band of upright uraei.The backpillar is inscribed in sunk relief with an inscription in two columns framed by a border. An inscribed backpillar bears two lines of hieroglyphs which includes the name of Pharaoh Tirhaqa or Taharqo in a cartouche.
