Clinical Finger-Tapping Video Dataset for MDS-UPDRS Severity Assessment in Parkinson's Disease

This record contains the clinical finger-tapping video dataset and corresponding MDS-UPDRS item 3.4 severity ratings used for video-based assessment of Parkinsonian bradykinesia. The final dataset comprises 226 valid hand-side video samples from 114 participants, including 113 left-hand samples and 113 right-hand samples. Each hand-side recording was treated as an independent sample. Each video was independently evaluated by three neurologists with expertise in movement disorders and PD. All raters completed the formal MDS-UPDRS training program provided by the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society. The ground-truth score for each video was determined by majority voting among the three independent ratings. The original MDS-UPDRS finger-tapping ratings range from 0 to 4. In the associated study, ratings 3 and 4 were combined into a single Score-3 category because of the limited number of high-severity samples. Because the files contain sensitive clinical video data, access is restricted to protect participant privacy and comply with ethical and institutional requirements. Researchers may submit an access request through Zenodo. Requests will be reviewed by the responsible research team and approved only for legitimate scientific use in accordance with the applicable ethical and data-protection requirements. The study was approved by the Branch for Medical Research and Clinical Technology Application, Ethics Committee of the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University (Approval No. MRCTA, ECFAH of FMU [2024]613).
