Replication Dataset for "Price Controls, Repressed Inflation, and Monetary Overhang in the Late Soviet Economy"

This replication dataset accompanies the independent student research paper “Price Controls, Repressed Inflation, and Monetary Overhang in the Late Soviet Economy.” The dataset compiles the values used in the paper’s figures, appendix, and diagnostic checks, including official retail price growth, monetary overhang benchmarks, forced saving estimates, inventories of unsold consumer goods, and subsidy indicators. The data are compiled from published sources, including IMF/OECD/EBRD/World Bank (1991) and Kim (1999, 2000). This dataset is intended for transparency and replication. It does not claim to be a newly extracted archival Soviet statistical dataset.
