Advantages of the new EU directive on online banking in Italy 2019

According to the results of a survey on the awareness of the new EU directive on online banking, which substitutes One Time Password (OTP) tokens with a message on the smartphone for accessing online banking services, 47 percent of Italians said that the advantage is that the smartphone is always at hand. The survey was conducted by YouGov Italia about tree months before the PSD2 directive enters into force. Surprisingly enough, approximately eight percent of the respondents believed that the new directive won't bring any advantages for online banking access.
